According to the authors of The Day Before, misinformation is to blame

The Day Before is a game that is currently getting more attention than most AAA games. From a promising-looking work, presented mainly by a minimum of gameplay images, within a few days it turned into a game that failed to convince the community with either game footage or originality, which was the last reason for criticism from the developers. They defend against the current reaction of the world as follows:We live in an age of disinformation and a lack of fact checking. Anyone can say anything, chasing ratings, and everyone will believe it. But disinformation needs to be fought because it hurts not only us, but also other smaller studios. They even affect team members.

Interestingly, the studio does not specify what this misinformation is. However, the move was not well received by the community, as much of the negative news directed against The Day Before was backed up by a fair amount of information. Many users even consider this statement to be one of the worst ever, and most of them agree that it might have been better if the company had not commented. What’s relatively funny about this whole situation is that in the future, Fntastic, the company behind the game, would like to help newcomers deal with misinformation and find its sources, which is a really weird way of dealing with problems.
