The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt got a new version, and it didn’t work perfectly on release day. In other words, she was very bad at optimization. Although for many people it was almost impossible to play on PC, it worked decently on consoles. CD Projekt Red addressed the issue and promised to fix it as soon as possible. However, the current patch 4.01 shows that this is easier said than done. Before this update, problems caused by ray tracing could be dealt with by turning them off, but now there is little you can do to help yourself.
To some extent, the situation is perhaps even worse than before, because with DirectX 12 enabled, the game performs very poorly, as shown in the attached video. A return to DirectX 11 is a lifesaver of sorts for players, but it’s definitely not what most gamers want. It is very interesting that the studio has not yet been able to optimize its work. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt certainly deserved a better start, so let’s hope that the creators can deal with a new batch of problems as soon as possible.
