CrossfireX was supposed to be a big entry for “Asian Counter-Strike” into the Western market. Reality fell short of expectations and the game received overwhelming critical acclaim. Less than a year after the release, as the South Korean studio announces Smilegate Not only shutdown of servers of the multiuser partbut also disabling access to single player kamapaniprepared by Finnish team Facilities.
All CrossfireX folders will be disabled May 18 at four o’clock our time. Until then, you can play the game, but you can no longer buy the premium campaign. Players will only be refunded for purchases made within the last two weeks.
“Despite the fact that our team has worked hard to release many content updates, including patches, new maps, modes and game events, in the end the game was not where it should have been,” the developers bluntly explain their decision in the published FAQ.
