Callisto Protocol initially looked like a possible successor to the Dead Space brand. However, the reality turned out to be different than expected. The success of this title was not noted in the reviews, and it was also not easy for the players, in the final it was played by about 17 thousand users on Steam at one moment, which is not just a few, but in total it is not a very large number. The Dead Space remake is much better in this regard. Critics note this, despite the slightly controversial technical side, and it also suits the players much better. As a chart in the Steam database shows, up to 30,000 people played the game at its peak, nearly double that of its competitor.
EA is certainly happy with this success. On the other hand, for the writers of The Callisto Protocol, this could mean disappointment, since a significant amount of funds poured into their project, and the subsequent reaction was definitely not what most people in the studio imagined.
