The remake of the fourth Resident Evil is slowly approaching. Suspicious silence reigned around the game lately, but now everything has changed. The editors of the Game Informer magazine have already managed to test part of the game and brought a very comprehensive article with new information (new information was summarized, for example, by an insider Twilight Golem). In a short video, several new gameplay shots flashed, and new screenshots were also published. More pictures should come in during the week.
The game should be relatively faithful to the original, to a greater extent than, for example, the popular remake of the second part. So far, it looks like it has pretty much all the iconic passages in it, as well as some additional content. For example, we may expect alternative paths we can take, or side tasks. Of course, all of the original characters will return, and some should get more space, like Salazar, whose backstory should be much richer.
All weapons should also return, but a crossbow will be added to the arsenal. The fights are said to be more difficult because the enemies are more aggressive but also generally smarter. Enemy types have also increased, though Capcom hasn’t gone into details just yet. All bosses are in the game, but some have undergone significant changes. Leon can carry several knives with him, which gradually wear out. They are quite effective, we can use them, for example, to get to the enemy on the ground or to hit the one who is currently kidnapping Ashley.
By the way, we will manage this with the help of R3 on the gamepad. However, in the remake, she can do more on her own and can be useful. He will be with Leon and in fights, unlike the original, he cannot hide in safety. Finally, another nice piece of information is that there will be no quick events in the game, but that’s something we’ve known for some time.
The Resident Evil 4 remake will release on March 24th. Heading to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
