If you’ve read our review of the Dead Space remake, which turned out to be really successful, you probably didn’t miss the fact that the game has a few technical issues. One of them was occurring on all platforms on all platforms, these were artifacts caused by a poor implementation of Variable Rate Shading (VRS), which changes the way an image is rendered to improve performance. This technology is usually used in new games, but here the developers really got it wrong, and VRS caused a significant pixelation of the image. Fortunately, the repair did not have to wait long.
On Monday night, EA took to Twitter. she announcedthat the patch for Steam and PS5 is already out, with the EA App and Xbox due to follow this week. The update completely removes VRS from consoles, and on PC players have the option to disable or enable the feature. At the same time, anti-aliasing on consoles has been greatly improved and now works much better, significantly reducing annoying flickering. I can confirm from my own experience that most of the issues have been fixed, we will provide details in the next technical analysis.
Hey #Dead space players!
