The Czech game store Xzone published on its website an overview of the best-selling games of 2022, which was supplemented by a number of other interesting statistics.
In terms of last year’s individual titles, best led by God of War Ragnarok, which was accompanied on the podium by Horizon Forbidden West and EA SPORTS FIFA 23. The five best-selling titles are then rounded out by Gran Turismo 7 and Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Other entries include Elden Ring, F1 22, Happy Game, Total War: Warhammer III, and A Plague Tale: Requiem.
“2022 was a very interesting year in that for the first time since 2017, the number of boxed games sold did not decrease. It even grew slightly compared to 2021 the year before last. It’s not a significant increase, but still surprising and mostly enjoyable. The Czech branch of PlayStation certainly deserves a lot of credit for this, whose support for selling exclusive PS5 games in a box is truly exemplary. The proof is the trio of exclusive games in the top four positions in the top-selling games ranking.” adds Xzone co-owner Martin Szovanek to the top-selling games list.
In addition to boxed games, Xzone also deals with sales merch and other themed game items. Fortnite X Marvel: Zero War and Batman/Fortnite: Foundation were the most successful comics in this category. The Art of Mafia Trilogy, which we brought you to review, was also a success. Among game consoles, the PlayStation 5 was able to sell the most units.
