MechWarrior will receive a new part next year

In an interview with the NoGutsNoGalaxy podcast, Piranha Games President Russ Bullock confirmed the development of a new game in the MechWarrior series for PC and consoles. Bullock showed that it will be a single player game with co-op supportwhich will be based on MechWarrior 5 in style and mechanics.

This is the fifth MechWarrior subtitled Mercenaries and continues to be supported by the developers for over three years after its release. Indeed, at the end of January, the game will receive its fourth DLC called Rise of Rasalhague. According to Bullock, the presentation of a full-fledged new work should take place during this year. The developers are also exploring options for a possible continuation of the multiplayer game. MechWarrior Online. But its development will depend on whether Piranha Games gets a chance to deal with the MechWarrior brand license in the coming years. The current contract expires in 2025.
