Rewinding movies is not unusual. Sometimes that means problems, sometimes it doesn’t. Often they happen after a test screening, when the filmmakers receive feedback from the first viewers. Roth, who you may know as the director of the horror movie Hostel or “that dude with the baseball bat from Infamous Pancharts,” doesn’t leave Borderlands on bad terms. According to Deadline, the reshoots will take several weeks, and Roth is already scheduled to shoot another Thanksgiving movie, a horror film based on the pseudo-trailer that was once part of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse project.

The cinematic Borderlands has already come a long way: Lionsgate announced the film adaptation in 2015, and filming began in early 2021. The genre is supposed to be “fantastic action movie”. Roth co-wrote the script with Craig Mazin, whose next film adaptation of the famous game The Last of Us will appear on HBO in a few days.

It stars Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Edgar Ramirez as Atlas, Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina, Kevin Hart as Roland and Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis. Jack Black voiced Claptrap the robot. A release date has yet to be announced, and reshoots could mean delays.
