In an interview with Comicbook magazine, Naughty Dog Studio President Neil Druckmann noted that in the past, the studio announced its new games quite early, which is why we have been waiting for their release for several more years. Basically, this situation concerned the games Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Part II.
According to Druckmann, the early announcement caused some work-life balance issues for the two titles, as well as general pressure on individual team members. For these reasons, Druckmann does not currently want to reveal another big game that is being created at the same time as the multiplayer game from the world of The Last of Us.
There is a lot of talk that the next project mentioned could be a new Uncharted or The Last of Us Part III.
