Atomic Heart should work seamlessly on older consoles

After the mess caused by Cyberpunk 2077, gamers are paying special attention to optimizing games on older generation consoles. Fears must be forgotten by the players who wait atomic heart. The developers paid attention to optimization.

“We literally ripped the engine apart with a can opener so that the game could make the most of every possible CPU core on every platform. We moved a lot of critical code to asynchronous threads. Traditionally, this code in Unreal Engine only runs on the game thread. It was a test and a difficult task. But it was worth it. I’m not hinting at anything, but we were even able to run the game on a device with three cores.” said creative director Robert Bagratuni in an interview with Wccftech.

The Mundfish studio believes that the future lies in the generation of images based on artificial intelligence. Compared to DLSS 2, DLSS 3 provides a significant increase in frame rate, higher quality, more detail, fewer artifacts, and higher resolution, they say.

In the future, Atomic Heart will also support Nvidia’s RTX DI (Direct Illumination). Supported by AMD FSR 2 you can calculate from the very beginning, while Intel Xess is not planned by the authors.

Atomic Heart will release on February 21, 2023 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. The game will be available on Game Pass on the same day.
