Rumors about Ada Lovelace’s Titan had been around for a while, when an image of a completely monstrous card surfaced. And now it happened again, on the channel “Moore’s Law is dead”, but it seems to be a slightly different model, or rather a prototype. Again, this is a huge card that also uses 2x 16 pins for power.
However, we do not yet know when or if we will ever receive the card. Due to high consumption, Nvidia will probably not rush into release, but will release a model if required.
RTX 4080 in stock, no card interest
While the RTX 4090 sold out quickly after release and is still hard to come by, the 4080 isn’t as popular. As such, the Gamers Nexus YouTube channel has come up with a detailed analysis of why this is the case and why this model differs from the well-established series from the 1980s.
The problem, of course, is the price, which makes absolutely no sense. As shown in the chart below, xx80 cards have so far cost around $600, up from $700 in the last two generations. 1200 dollars.
That’s a really high price, but most importantly, it’s “only” $300 less than the much more powerful RTX 4090. And worst of all, the card doesn’t usually sell at the suggested retail price, even in America, where it’s at least least close to it. In Europe and on other continents, goods are much more expensive, although of course this also applies to other cards.
Then, Nexus gamers added an interesting statement from Taiwan’s general stores. According to them, there really is no interest in 4080, and they are still in stock. Most buyers are said to be buying the RTX 3080 and the latest generation models in general. But they are slowly ending, and given that there are still no new graphics in this price category, there will probably be a hole in the market for a while, which the upcoming RTX 4070 Ti will probably not fill due to the massive price increase.
