The fourth trial is the loop of death
In the last part of our special, where we test a LYNX gaming PC with a Ryzen 5 5600 processor, GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card, 16 GB DDR4 RAM and 1 TB NVMe SSD, we will take a look at the racing game Forza Horizon 5. It came out late last year, but it’s still getting new content and many players still play it regularly, so this is a good example of a title from a slightly different genre than what we’ve seen so far. We tested the game in its benchmark, again in all three traditional resolutions: 1080p, 1440p and 4K.
Let’s first look at FullHD, where the computer did a great job. On the highest preset, Extreme, it averaged almost 100 fps, which is pretty decent because the game also uses ray tracing on that setting. You can get slightly higher FPS by lowering the quality to Ultra, where the difference in quality is minimal. On High and Medium, it drops quite noticeably, but the frame rate also increases significantly (on High, ray tracing is set to Low, on Medium it is turned off completely).
Let’s move on to 1440p, where the frame rate drop will be minimal. Even at extreme settings, you can look forward to a lovely average of 87fps, while even the lowest settings are well over 60fps, so the game feels very fluid. By lowering the settings, the frame rate will increase significantly, especially when switching from Ultra to High.
The good news is that the computer has no problems even in 4K. Even at the highest preset, you can expect 64 fps on average, although the lowest values already drop to 53. But once you switch to a slightly lower Ultra quality, the second important figure reaches 60 FPS. Of course, again, you can still lower the settings and get to 100 or more frames per second, which is an excellent result in 4K.
So, the LYNX gaming PC performed well in Forza Horizon 5. At all three resolutions tested, we managed to get over 60 frames per second, even at the highest quality settings.
So everything is from me. Thank you for reading this special issue and we hope you learned something interesting for yourself.
