Wood explained on Reddit that the combat level was set to normal when the footage was recorded, so the video doesn’t represent the maximum Hogwarts Legacy has to offer in terms of difficulty. Especially since the controller ended up in the hands of a “professional” who has been playing Hogwarts Legacy for a long time almost every day. Therefore, he knows the gameplay and knows what tactics to use in combat. It makes wizard fights easy.

The Community Manager took the opportunity to reveal some interesting details about the combat system. Unforgivable Curses have a crowd control mechanic., which is useful for dealing with a group of enemies. For example Avada Kedavra causes fear that causes other enemies to flee. You can see how the enemies are crouching. Cruciatus stuns the enemy and removes them from combat for a moment, while Imperius forces the enemy to switch sides and fight alongside the main character.

We were able to see all three demonstrations on video, which resulted in a reduction in AI capabilities, and this could cause AI seemed less efficient.

It is also important to mention that during the game there will be curses that will not disappear, completely optional. Moreover, they will not be available from the very beginning. Your created character can learn them over time and their skill level will be gradual.

“Without wanting to reveal too much, I can say that becoming so powerful is to be earned, which goes hand in hand with the narrative of choosing and learning certain spells.” added Chandler Wood.

Hogwarts Legacy will release on 02/10/2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The PS4 and Xbox One versions will be available on 04/04/2023 and the Nintendo Switch version until 07/25/2023.
