Since the release of Resident Evil Village, it was believed that in the future we could see a virtual reality mode. After all, sevens could be played in VR from the very beginning, and the players were excited about it, although at times they were perhaps too scared. In any case, the prediction came true earlier this year when the PlayStation event in June did indeed announce Resident Evil Village for VR, which will be available exclusively on the PlayStation VR2 headset. And now we finally know when that will happen.
Capcom announced on Twitter that the VR version will be released alongside the headset itself on February 22, 2023, so it’s one of several launch titles. Another piece of good news is that owners of the base game won’t have to pay for the VR mode and will get it for free.
Unfortunately, we don’t know if there will be other VR headsets in the future. For now, it looks like it will again be a PlayStation exclusive, as it was with the seventh installment.
Be close and personal.
