In the case of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, few could have imagined that something could go wrong in the update that is coming out now. Most expected to receive a free update of a number of functions. However, the reality is ultimately quite different. If in the case of the console versions, users do not particularly complain, then on the PC this is a rather problematic product, which is not very good for most game owners, which not only I had a chance to experience for myself, but also a number of friends with whom I sometimes spend time over games.
The main killer of all performance is, for example, according to Forbes magazine, the activation of the Ray-tracing function on a number of machines. It effectively brings both old computers and the most modern machines to their knees. Complaints are filed by users through reports. Even disabling this feature may not completely save you, because intra-frame stability is not the strength of the new generation of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The update did not benefit even some modifications, which are now frankly broken. DLSS, or monitoring elements (rather no than yes) also work wildly now.
For some, the game even refuses to start. Moving from Dx12 to Dx11 has been a form of relief for some users. If betting on switching Dx versions doesn’t help you, then luckily there is an option to upgrade to version 1.32. Just go to properties and select this alternative in beta versions. At least on PC, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt update didn’t go too well, let’s hope they fix it as soon as possible.
