The fact that Dwarf Fortress has a lot of fans became known on Friday. However, Bay 12 Games, the company behind this work, did not expect the paid version of this work to be so good. She originally estimated that the game would be able to sell around 160,000 units in the following months. However, the reality in the end very pleasantly surprised the creators, because their game managed to surpass these figures in just 24 hours, which can be considered a great success for an indie game.
It’s not just sales that are falling. Estimates of this work are also extremely positive, which certainly motivates other potential buyers to buy. It’s definitely good to see that the switch to the new graphics has paid off for a legendary game. Let’s hope sales don’t stop at 160k units and eventually reach at least a million units sold because few are as polished as this creation of a lifetime by still motivated independent writers.
