Microsoft becomes the next big publisher to sell games at a higher price. The changes will come in early 2023, when the company plans to release several major titles.
Microsoft missed a significant gem this year, which likely left the company with no reason to raise the price of its exclusives. But that will change in 2023, with Microsoft selling its new Xbox Series X/S games for $70/€ (previously $60/€). If only the exchange rate is taken into account, then 70 euros equals 1702.38 CZK.
The higher price applies to already announced games, led by the new one. Forza Motorsportshooter Redfall and expected space RPG Starfield.
“This price reflects the content, scope and technical complexity of these games. Like all games developed by our Xbox teams, these games will be available through Game Pass on the day they are released.” This was reported to IGN by a Microsoft representative.
Source: electronic artsMicrosoft has acknowledged that the PlayStation has the best games. Sony, on the other hand, sank Battlefield.
In a statement to Polygon, a Microsoft spokesperson said they want to keep the original price this Christmas so families can enjoy the gift of games. But as you can see, in the new year, price increases are inevitable, because they will release games created for the new generation. They are larger and technically more complex.
Prices may vary by region. So let’s see how much they will sell for here. However, this is another reason to go to Game Pass Subscription, which Microsoft will surely promote even more. Although it is somehow expected (still unofficially) that the price will rise in 2023. The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles are also expected to do the same. Sony has already made its PS5 more expensive.
The $70/€ price tag for their Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 games has previously been announced by Ubisoft (for big AAA titles), Sony or Take-Two Interactive (with 2K Games).
