New patch fixes crashes in The Callisto Protocol on PC

The horror movie The Callisto Protocol, released on Friday, not only received mixed reviews regarding the design or combat system, but also had serious technical problems, especially on PC. This is because the game was compiling shaders on the fly, causing short, very annoying crashes almost every time a new effect was introduced. The devs released a statement pretty quickly that they were already working on it and released a new patch this morning.

According to the authors from the studio Striking Distance, it should fix the twitching, but, on the contrary, you should expect temporary crashes in the menu. It looks like the shaders are already compiled there, so if you want to completely get rid of the problems with the gameplay, you will have to wait until the menu hangs completely, which should mean that the shaders are already compiled.

Some players report that the problems have indeed stopped or at least decreased, while others have not. It is also often mentioned that the game now crashes more often. The bad side of the game is still optimization, especially with ray tracing enabled. However, the developers assure that they will work on this in the coming days.
