The announcement of a remake of the first The Witcher excited the community. However, it looks like this title won’t just come to us, as evidenced by the company’s latest earnings video. In it, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiczynski introduced how he would actually present the expected title as follows:[Remake Zaklínače] it will only come out after Polaris, which is a consequence of the way we think about this project. We think so [remake] it will be based heavily on Polaris technologies. So it will be developed partially in parallel with Polaris, but once Polaris is launched, everything will be finalized for Polaris and it will be partially created in [remaku].“
From the whole statement, one gets the impression that a remake of the first representative of the cult series will arrive only after the release of The Witcher 4, on which only a quarter of the studio’s forces are currently working, and Cyberpunk is doing the rest. 2077 and its Phantom Liberty DLC. Work on it will begin in full only next year, when the final product arrives, so it is not yet clear. We must expect it not earlier than in three years. Only subsequent years will show whether this is just wishful thinking.
