The highly anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Darktide co-op event from Fatshark, creators of the action series Vermintide, drops today at 19:00. The deadly tunnels are open to all who are interested in the extermination of monsters and people endowed with the gift of the dark god Nurgle. While Warhammer: Vermintide 2 was a game built primarily around melee kills, this time around you’ll be dealing with more than just melee weapons. To succeed in this job, you will also need futuristic rifles to help you deal with opponents who absolutely hate direct confrontation, so they constantly bombard you with their cannons. Their firepower is unparalleled, so they should not be underestimated. In addition, they are often accompanied by deadly mutants and demons whose bodies easily withstand most of your blows.
The game went through a short closed beta test. In the case of a pre-order, a beta version was available to the buyer associated with the purchase of the game within the last two weeks. According to the developers, it will not have a remote procedure. In this way, character development will be transferred to you in the full game. Upon release, you can look forward to four special classes (Ogryn, Psyker, Veteran, Zealot) that will delight every RPG fan.
Darktide’s range of specializations includes a tank, an alt mage, a marksman, as well as a warrior that deals massive contact damage. Your hero can then be worked on through item purchases and general development, allowing you to develop him into a deadly tool with a clear focus on your playstyle. Each of these specializations is unique enough to provide a high level of replay value, and the fourth of the five offered difficulties is difficult enough to keep you busy for long evenings.
If the creators fix the stability and generally tweak their game before release, then we will have a really great successor to Vermintide and, most likely, the best game of this subgenre that popularized Valve’s iconic Left 4 Dead.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is available today on PC and Xbox Series X/S for €39.99/€59.99. You will receive feedback later this week.
Demonic interference has damaged the old map… Ahem… Let’s hope the Gellar Field works this time. Rejects! Priorities blah blah blah.. pic.twitter.com/ZTHVT71uQ5
