RDNA 3 Series Bottom Chip Parameters Confirmed

In early November, the first two graphics cards built on the RDNA 3 architecture were introduced. However, both are based on the Navi 31 chip, while it is known that AMD has even lower versions of the Navi 32 and 33 in preparation. various speculations about this for quite a long time time, but now comes the official confirmation of their main parameter. This was done using the ROCm software, an insider said. Kepler.

The average chip, i.e. Navi 32, should offer 60 compute units in the full version (Navi 31 has 96). As a reminder, this chip will probably be used for cards numbered 7800 and possibly 7700 as well. It is supposed to be a chiplet design again, but this time with 4 MKDs instead of 6.

At the moment, the smallest known current generation chip, Navi 33, should have up to 32 cores. Be aware, however, that graphics cards (probably 7600 and below) will be significantly different from more expensive models. This chip is to be built on a 6nm process and will be a monolith, not a chiplet. Rumor has it that the Navi 33 is cheap to manufacture, but of course it’s too early to speculate on the price.

Finally, I would like to remind you that the Radeon RX 7900 XTX and 7900 XT will hit the market on December 13th.

Intel is set to introduce several new Raptor Lake generation models at CES.

At CES in early January, AMD is due to unveil Ryzen 7000 processor models with V-Cache, which are likely to bring significant performance gains in games. Of course, Intel is also on the alert, the Chinese magazine ITHome has now reported that it should introduce other models from the current generation of Raptor Lake on January 3, apparently also at CES. Below you can see all the alleged models that should appear in the 13th generation.

Mobile processors and desktop models without the letter “K” should be released in January. However, be careful, all processors from the Intel Core i5 13600 (including) below will be built on the older Alder Lake architecture. As for the improved flagship in the form of the i9 13900KS, which should push the frequency up to 6 GHz, it’s not yet clear if Intel will introduce it at CES. It is expected to appear later.

Ryzen 7000 dropped significantly, but only temporarily

AMD has a problem that has been evident since the first release of the Intel Raptor Lake processors. While the processors are nearly equal in games and AMD has a slight edge, Intel wins overwhelmingly in multi-core applications, where especially the Core i5 and i7 models offer the best performance in the class. So customers started calling for a Ryzen 7000 discount, and indeed, it happened.

The company has announced an official price cut that looks like this (original price in brackets):

  • Ryzen 9 7950X – $574 ($699)
  • Ryzen 9 7900X – $474 ($549)
  • Ryzen 7 7700X – $349 ($399)
  • Ryzen 5 7600X – $249 ($299)

Discounts also touched Czech stores and are really quite large. However, AMD added that this is only a temporary “promotion” as part of Black Friday, after which they will probably return to the original prices.
