The Drums of War Again in Small World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft is a place where there is never a lack of conflict. There is always someone on stage who wants to change the world in their own way. Sometimes they are undead, sometimes they are guests from distant planets. The little World of Warcraft follows in the footsteps of the famous MMORPG, so there is no shortage of conflicts. However, he does not offer Azeroth as we know it. Instead, it gives players a series of map tiles of varying sizes (small, medium, large) that represent virgin islands ready to be occupied. How many and what size pieces you choose depends on what time you decide to start playing.

If you have only one opponent, only large and medium islands are waiting for you. Each of the maps is divided into several zones representing meadows, forests, mountains and water bodies. Simply put, a potential home for newcomers who are tasked with making the most of their appearance to expand and maintain the living space they gain control over. There are plenty of people interested in your attention in the racing spectrum, as a result it is surprisingly rich.

In the Small World of Warcraft menu, you can find a total of sixteen species that want to show the world that they are a race capable of dominating the world. Both the Alliance and the Horde have six nations here. The other four are made up of neutral players who haven’t been offered enough by either of the two major sides in World of Warcraft to be willing to join. Fans of humans, gnomes, night elves, goblins, orcs, tauren, or kobolds will be a great choice if they have real fans.

In the famous MMORPG, each race has some kind of ability that, in addition to their appearance, allows them to really stand out from other species. It’s the same in Small World of Warcraft, where everyone brings an ace to the vast battle for the unoccupied islands, which he can pull out of his sleeve at the right time. Night elves, for example, are a race that is more efficient in occupying forests and, to make matters worse, they also have the ability to create magical wells that reduce the strength of enemy troops. Trolls are more adept at raiding foreign territories, while nagas can occupy swampy areas of the map.

It all starts with a fantasy version of Omaha Beach.

You are offered not only a race for which you need to fight. To make the game more interesting, you also have the option to specify a race specialization. You have exactly twenty options at your disposal, of which you, of course, can choose only one. If you make your people explorers, each island that your troops are on will bring you extra money. As a builder, you increase your defense with forts, and a champion nation can take one enemy position per turn without spending too much power. There are really many options to choose from.

At the very beginning, each player in Small World of Warcraft has five victory coins. At first glance, this is a small amount, but if you do not like the chosen race, or the specialization that was on the top deck does not fit, there is nothing easier than to look below and choose one of the lower decks. However, you should always keep in mind that for each additional level you drop in your search, you will pay one penny, so the further you go, the more your final choice will cost you.

Once all participants have chosen who they want to play as and what they specialize in, they receive a certain number of tokens, the number of which is determined by the choice of faction and specialization. It all starts with an invasion, in which you slowly spread your tokens around the surrounding territories and effectively conquer and temporarily occupy them. The initial steps require a lot of strength, but once you get beyond the area occupied by the original population of mostly pesky murlocs, things become a piece of cake. Most of the time, you only need two faction photos and pieces of the map fall at your feet. After all, you can distribute your forces according to how important each position is to you.

Next comes another player who can either head to another island, which is normal, or start an invasion of a location you control and show you if your distribution of forces was correct. The round ends when all players have played, after which each player takes coins according to the occupied territories and their special abilities. Then a new round begins and the expansion associated with it begins. However, you must always leave one token on the fields, otherwise you will lose your position.

Take advantage of your race in Small World of Warcraft

Therefore, you will never be able to wield the same power as in the beginning, when your race reaches its full potential. And agility is what Small World of Warcraft stands for. Once you reach the point where you can no longer work effectively with your views, it’s time to get rid of them. Yes, it sounds cruel, but you have no choice. However, the transformation of this race into a waning game is not over yet. Subsequently, you can take another nation and thus start the whole campaign in another place for a grouping with different racial advantages and specializations.

However, your initial efforts to conquer will not completely disappear. It’s still a money generator, but you no longer control it, and its territorial power is limited to just one token in most races, making it an easy target for new invaders. In this regard, Small World of Warcraft is a great example of King Terenas’ favorite idea:Nobody can rule forever.“Your old race can disappear here in two ways. Either it will exist and survive, after which it will be destroyed, or you will simply reach the third nation, and thus it will disappear on its own and take the place of your fading race as piece number two. Whoever has the most coins at the end is the winner of the entire game.

Simple but incredibly fun

This is how I would rate Small World of Warcraft for myself. This is a work that will take you to an amazing fantasy universe where you and other players will fight for who can hold power over Azeroth for as long as possible. The rules are simple and the game elements are not overloaded. They are also supported by additional draws that are available here for all participants.

Some people may find Small World of Warcraft too easy after mastering all the elements. However, I didn’t have any problems with it. This is a very distinctive strategy game that should not be missing from the shelf of any World of Warcraft fan who enjoys spectacular tactical encounters.
