It was launched exactly one year after the launch of the first Xbox. Xbox Live Online Service, which brought gamers together on the Microsoft console. Currently Xbox Live celebrates its 20th anniversary and the service has continued to gain popularity since the launch of the Halo 2 shooter.

In July 2004, about a year and a half after launch, the service reached one million online users. A year later there were already two million, and with the advent of the Xbox 360 console, there was an improvement in service and a sharp increase in users.

Users could choose between with a free Xbox Live Silver accountallowing access to the console’s digital store, and with a paid Xbox Live Gold account. The latter unlocked multiplayer and gradually brought other benefits, including “free” games.

Last January it was announced that Xbox Live has over 100 million monthly active users..

Today, you can use Xbox Live in the same way. Either free with the ability to play multiplayer for free games only, or through a paid Xbox Live Gold account, which can be purchased separately, as well as in a convenient package Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. It combines Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass for consoles and PC, EA Play, and cloud streaming.
