Asobo shared a post. Update for A Plague Tale: Lamentation Xbox Series X|S is making some targeted fixes for PlayStation 5 and PC, specifically to optimize some of the more annoying performance issues that have been highlighted since launch. Also included Steam Deck support.

There are a few combat rebalances, a few fixes for crashes, progress blocks, animation glitches and more, but one of the most criticized aspects of the game since its launch has been the drastic performance drops on consoles when too much mouse, lighting effects and more affect the game. I hope Asobo was able to isolate and make the necessary changes to fix this.

However, the game is also 30 FPS frame rate on consoles: We assume trying to deliver 60 FPS isn’t easy and isn’t among the developers’ priorities.

Also, the game is now on PC Compatible with Steam Decks and added more visual and performance options to help users find the right visual balance on any type of computer.

In our review, “A Plague Tale: Requiem is an amazing sequel, gripping and sometimes heartbreaking. An experience that is characterized by incredible artistic direction, bringing to life sequences with great visual impact, replacing calmer rhythms with frenzied rhythms.” The race sums up the various characters very well and brings back a sense of travel and exploration typical of the best adventures. The stealth gameplay is once again central, but enriched in every way, and it’s really hard to be without some nuances. Well, that’s the case for dedicating all of this to technical optimization, because staying fixed at 30fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X seems to us like a step back that users would happily do without.
