According to magazine sources existing studio staff will be relocated other racing and sports projects under the EA banner. Whether this means the complete demise of the Slightly Mad studio is not yet entirely clear.

In the early days of its existence, Slightly Mad studio took care of release of two parts of the Need for Speed ​​series subtitled Shift and Shift 2: Unleashed. Compared to other parts of these arcade racing games, these games offered a slightly more realistic experience and racing on closed tracks. Subsequently, the studio created a spin-off of the Test Drive series, subtitled Ferrari Racing Legends.

But since 2015, when the first volume came out, the road has gotten a little crazy. strongly associated with the Project CARS series, in which, in addition to three large parts, an unsuccessful mobile branch called Project CARS GO also appeared. Then the 2020 Fast & Furious Crossroads game is considered the team’s most significant mistake.

An important milestone for the developers of Slightly Mad there was a redemption of the studio by Codemasters, which happened in 2019. Two years later, Codemasters itself, and with it the Slightly Mad studio, was bought by Electronic Arts.
