Cyberpunk 2077 got a new one patch marked 1.61, and while it’s not as massive an update as the recent 1.6 patch, it does contain a few new features worth looking into. First of all, it is about adding support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 technologywhich is designed for PC and next generation consoles.

As is the case with many other titles, it is true that FSR can help a little with game performance and fluidity., especially if you’re playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a PC with older hardware. FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 is automatically enabled on consoles, so there is no need to enable it separately in the settings.
Patch 1.61 for Cyberpunk 2077 is being released and will be available soon on PC, consoles and Stadia.

As usual, with patch 1.61 there are changes and fixes in the areas of tasks and activities, visuals, gameplay and user interface. In the official list of changes, you can find some curiosities, for example, that You can now craft the legendary version of the Amnesty Iconic revolver. and that you can already properly earn all the achievements if you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 on PC via the Epic Games Store and not on GOG.com or Steam.
But the most important innovation, of course, are umbrellas. Not that the people of Night City always let it rain on their heads, but they rarely took out umbrellas and they all looked the same. Now when traveling around the city in the rain, you can see more umbrellas, which come in not only different colors, but also different shapes. Which is certainly a key change that will undoubtedly bring more benefits in the long run than the expected overhaul of police systems. From our point of view, this new feature is so important that immediately after downloading the patch, we wrote it into photo mode in order to properly use it. And give a little more space to the cat Buzzle.
Now seriously. Although patch 1.61 is not a big deal, it is interesting for several reasons. Besides the already mentioned support for FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 from AMD, the main thing is the fact that the update is out on all platforms, that is, not only on PC and consoles, but also on Stadia from Google. Stadia early next year will recommend to eternal hunting grounds, so it probably wouldn’t surprise anyone if there were no more updates for it. So we’re skipping all possible jokes about how maybe all 5 existing Stadia users will appreciate the new update, and instead say how nice it is to see developers supporting a certain platform while they can.
However, this support has its limits. While the creators at CD Projekt RED have promised us in the past that they will still support Cyberpunk 2077 even on PS4 and Xbox One in terms of fixes, new content including upcoming paid expansion Phantom Freedom it will only target PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.. So while you can enjoy patch 1.61 even if you’re using Stadia or older consoles, you should slowly but surely prepare for the need to switch platforms.
