Reviews for God of War: Ragnarok were banned last week. You can read our review, in which the game received the highest score, here. Data from Metacritic and OpenCritic aggregators show that the new God of War most often gets 9/10 and 10/10 ratings. The average rating on these servers has stabilized at 94%.

However, several reviewers have decided to give the game a lower rating, which is not unusual even for games with the same high rating. By far the most attention on social media was a Korean IGN review in which the game was rated 6/10.

Journalist Bae Sang-hyun criticized the game, for example, for a small number of innovations compared to the previous part. He also took a rather negative view of the portrayal of the father-son relationship. However, that was enough to turn him on. spat out hateful reactions from “fans”, to which the author himself later replied Twitter.

In his statement, Bae Sang Hyun calls for this. other opinions and views are also taken into accountwhich could ultimately help the gaming industry. He also adds that the Korean-to-English translation of his final verdict, available on OpenCritic, sounded more provocative in its original form than he originally intended.

The author also links to a video by creator OhNoItsAlexx reacting critically to a series of hateful comments on his YouTube channel. In addition to various derogatory expressions, ridicule and death threats, in the comments, the reviewer is referred to, for example, as a fan of the rival Xbox. In closing, Bae Sang Hyun pleads with the players they avoided such reactions and rather enjoyed the game to the fullest.
