PlayStation VR2 will be released in February and will cost more than PS5

Virtual reality for consoles prefix 5 With name PlayStation VR2 will be sold from 22.02.2023 for 600 euros (converted to 14,700 CZK) and pre-orders will start on November 15, Sony announced this afternoon.

This bundle will include a VR headset, PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones. There will be more on the menu PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle for 650 euros (16,000 CZK) including a digital download code for this action-adventure.

Those who wish will also be able to buy a charging station for PS VR2 Sense controllers for 50 euros (1250 CZK).

Earlier, Sony representatives hinted that Over 20 games will be available on PS VR2 launch day, including Horizon Call of the Mountain, Resident Evil Village and No Man’s Sky. Today, 11 more games were announced that will appear in 2023:

  • The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR (Supermassive Games)
  • Crossfire: Sierra Squad (Smilegate)
  • Light Brigade (Funktronic Labs)
  • Cities VR – Enhanced Edition (Fast travel)
  • Cosmonius High (Owlchemy Labs)
  • Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue (games on TinyBuild)
  • Jurassic World Aftermath Collection (Sink)
  • Pistol Whip VR (Cloudhead Games)
  • Zenith: The Last City (Ramen VR)
  • After the Fall (Vertigo Games)
  • Tentacular (Firepunchd Games UG)

Separately, it is worth noting one negative point. PlayStation VR2 will not be compatible with the first generation. Developers will have to modify their games. Platform Senior Vice President Hideaki Nishino justified the decision by stating that the PS VR2 headset is designed to deliver an authentic next-generation VR experience. With more advanced features such as haptic vibrations, adaptive triggers, 3D audio, eye tracking, and more, PS VR2 game development requires a completely different approach than the previous generation.

Now about trailers of recently announced games. As you can see, PS VR2 owners have a lot to look forward to. The only thing missing is the Jurassic World Aftermath collection.
