A Plague Tale: Requiem arrived on the screens of enthusiastic players over ten days ago, taking the sequel to the popular first installment by storm, and a number of rave reviews testify to its success. But with the game’s conclusion, one important question arises: Will A Plague Tale see a third installment? As it seems, A Plague Tale: Requiem should live up to its name and be the last part of the series. At least for now.
He disclosed information director Kevin Choto on the Official PlayStation Blog in an extensive interview about the second game, when asked if they considered Requiem the final part of the story of the two siblings, or one of the next chapters.
“I think it’s over for now.” Luckily, Shoto was specific in his answer, and it looks like even if the devs aren’t planning a sequel, they don’t completely reject the third part.
“But the door is never closed and we will see how the players take the game. We want to see their reaction before making a decision. They control our production and if they don’t like what we’ve done, we have to do something else.” the game director continues his statement.
What’s interesting is that a similar approach was taken by the developers after the completion of the first part called Innocence. As we learned from an interview with Kevin Pinch at Gamescom, the second part was not originally planned either. One of the reasons Asobo Studio didn’t even plan on Requiem was the fact that the developers didn’t expect such a warm welcome from the first game. However, since A Plague Tale: Requiem has earned reviews ranging from 7 to 9, we dare to say that Asobo will not throw flint on the rye with the story of Amicia and Hugo, or at least with the world of Plague Tale.
NEW INFORMATION ABOUT NEW GAME+
We also learned new information in connection with New Game+. The second part will add an extended game mode, which is a significant difference from the first part. New Game+ will have several classical form, so you’ll keep all the collectibles you’ve collected, as well as unlocked upgrades and abilities. But unlike classic games, New Game+ will have locked on special ultimate difficultywhich opens simultaneously with the first passage of the game.

A Plague Tale: Requiem was released on October 18, 2022 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S with Czech subtitles, and is also available on Xbox and PC Game Pass.
