The head of Xbox hinted that there will be a price increase for Xbox Game Pass in the future

Xbox Game Pass has become one of Microsoft’s main weapons in the battle with Sony. Its relatively low price, combined with the fact that it doesn’t offer much at all, makes all the difference. This is a price tag that could change in the coming years. While the growth is certainly yet to be determined, Xbox head Phil Spencer spoke out on the matter on WSJ Live, where he had this to say about it:We keep the price of the console, we keep the price of the games…and the subscription. I don’t think we can do this forever. I think at some point we will have to make some things more expensive…

However, this year the price tag of Xbox Game Pass should not go up. The proof of this thought should be his statement: “I think at some point we’re going to have to raise some things, but as we’re getting ready for this holiday season, we thought it’s important to keep prices down.” Considering the current subscription price (339 kr for Ultimate, 259 kr for PC or console) and the ever-expanding offer, the price increase makes sense. The question is how fast the growth will be. However, I wouldn’t count on a drastic increase as this could cause the service to lose some of its appeal and possibly the accessibility aspect it currently boasts.
