You may have already noticed student remake levels of study famous Czech games Viet Cong. Its author Jakub Hutecka, has now shared how development is progressing. He writes optimistically about the timeline he plans to complete his project, shows improved visuals, and reveals other plans, including a whole new level.
“I know I still have a lot to learn, but I think so graphics have improved a lot– writes Jakub Khleek, and also attaches several images and videos directly from the game, – at the moment I am satisfied with the graphics and move on to rewriting scripts from the prototype.
For the author, this is also a graduation project. In this regard, he also describes the scope of his work: “As part of the graduation assignment, I have the duty change shape monkey track levels, shooting range and create a whole new level where the player will demonstrate the skills acquired during the training.
While the first mentioned levels are not guaranteed to be released due to copyright, the new level shouldn’t be a problem: “I’m not sure about the monkey trail and shooting range release, but I want to publish the level itself, and nothing will stop me from doing so“.
I tried to somehow evaluate my progress in the Viet Cong over the past few months, at the same time I will try to write a little about the plan for the future, I will be glad to read any feedback, up to the very log of the developers. https://t.co/AxN8hZH2eH

Jakub Hlekaka has also completed the rework of the character models, though he acknowledges that uniforms, for example, still need some work. Currently, he is also thinking about reworking fights: “He inspires me to do it first of all. [Cyberpunk 2077]I love peeking out from behind the cover.”
The author is optimistic about the time. They want to finish the level of the monkey trail by the beginning of December, then we can wait for the next video or stream, which will reveal all the possibilities of the game. The entire project can be completed within five months.
You can follow the further development of the project and details about it on the itch.io portal.
