We will see Silent Hill in other games and movie

The Silent Hill horror series is back in full force. During the stream, Konami announced not only remake of part 2, which is being done by the Polish studio Bloober Team, but also other projects. They are also interesting and completely new compared to the remake, but, unfortunately, we have less information about them.

Let’s start with Silent Hill f. A brand new game in development by the studio Neobards Entertainment. You may not know this Chinese team, but they are subscribed to remakes of famous brands. In this case, Resident Evil is especially suitable. They have their fingers in Resident Evil Re:Verse, Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 7:biohazard, Resident Evil Origins Collection, or Devil May Cry: HD Collection.

The plot of Silent Hill f will be written by a famous Japanese writer Ryukishi07, author of the visual novel series When They Cry. He is the producer of the project Motoi Okamotowho previously worked for Nintendo from 1998 to 2007.

The trailer shows a girl standing over what appears to be a decorated monument. red and pink flowers. The video then cuts to a city overrun by red vines that are slowly taking over the Japanese village and trying to capture the girl. The final scene shows the same girl floating on a small boat after being swallowed by the mysterious plants, who then looks at the screen and sheds a single tear before her face falls off her head.

It looks like quite an interesting departure from the Silent Hill series. We do not currently know what the f stands for.

Let’s go to Silent Hill: Townfall. This is a completely new concept from the studio. No code (authors of Stories Untold and Observation) and independent publishers Annapurna Interactive (Vagabonds, Sayonara Wild Hearts, Donut County, Outer Wilds). We have a teaser trailer, but unfortunately we don’t know many details.

“I’m honored to create a new title for this series that respects the original material but does something a little different with it,” John McKellan, creative director of No Code, said that we should watch the video several times because we might have missed something.

The short trailer consists of a series of gruesome images and videos shown on a portable CRTV. In the background, a man coldly demands an answer to the question why the listener is here. The listener then replies, “For us to be punished,” though he does not seem entirely convinced. The trailer ends with a flash of a man wearing glasses.

We will continue Silent Hill: Ascension. This is not a game, but a kind of live and possibly interactive experience in the world of Silent Hill. The trailer showed images of chat bubbles of users debating if they could save “her”, with the segment ending with the words “Live 2023”.

This project was created in collaboration with several companies: Genvid Technologies (engaged in software) Bad robot games producer, screenwriter, director, actor and composer JJ Abrams, Behavior Interactive (Authors Dead by Daylight) DJ2 Entertainment. The latter company specializes in the production of film and TV series based on video games.

These titles suggest that it will be some kind of video game/live broadcast hybrid with an interactive component.

Finally, we have a new film from the director of the original 2006 Silent Hill. Christopher Gans really cooks Return to Silent Hill and hopes it will be the return to the familiar world that the fans want.

In the meantime, we can test concepts and discuss Hans’ ideas with producer Victor Habidi. The new movie will be based on the story of Silent Hill 2. and it will be more about psychological horror.

According to Hadida, the plan is to “make it modern, but at the same time very true to the video game.” familiar monsters (including the iconic Pyramid Head), but in an updated form, a new version.

The script of the new film is completely independent from the previous two films and follows the development path of Silent Hill. The film will be released in theaters in 2023.
