FlexiSpot E8 review: Gaming and standing desk for small spaces

when you think of game tables, you normally think of countertops filled with RGB lighting. By comparison, the FlexiSpot E8 desk might seem a bit basic, but gamers who also work from home should consider this when making their next purchase, especially if you’re short on space and need a versatile work surface.

First, the E8 comes in three large boxes (if you buy the legs and table together). Each of these is very heavy and the footrest will almost certainly need to be carried by two people. This is the line you will find when unboxing and assembling the E8.

Flexispot wraps the E8 well with foam and cardboard reinforcements to prevent knocks or bumps. Although it’s all a bit tedious, assembling the table is pretty straightforward as the instructions are simple and easy to follow, and they come with diagrams showing what goes where.

Every part of the E8 table is highly durable. The legs, legs and frame are made of high quality metal and you will never mistake it for a cheap table. The downside to this is of course the weight. If you set this table up high, you’ll find yourself on many trips, taking up only one table piece at a time due to the weight of the metal – the E8 is the heaviest table I’ve ever used. , so I can only imagine, in what Secretlab Magnus looks like.

FlexiSpot gives you everything you need to build a table and setup is easy. Simply screw the stand and legs to the legs with the included hex key (all high quality – no cheap bolts to break or hex keys to bend) and you’re ready to screw on the desk of your choice. The E8’s flexibility in choosing a desktop is perhaps one of its greatest strengths. You see, when you order an E8, you can choose from a variety of sizes and colors to customize your desk to suit your workspace, which is refreshing.

The desks themselves are much better than I expected. Wood is durable and makes a nice sound when tapped, so you can expect a quality workspace that doesn’t have the emptiness of brands that use cheaper components. However, the desktop connection slows things down.

Flexispot E8 Review - Fully Assembled White Wall Table

While the frame itself is easy to assemble by simply attaching the metal components with hex bolts, installing a desk requires lifting a heavy metal frame and sliding it onto the bottom of the desk. Then you need to match all the holes and use a screwdriver to fix the desktop to the frame. It’s not practical, and while it could probably be done with one person, it almost requires the help of an accomplice to hold one side of the frame in place while you get to work.

This symbolizes a larger problem with the E8 installation; its high quality means a lot of weight, which means even lugging boxes around the house is a two-man job. So if you are considering this painting, you should ask a friend in advance to help you.

Once the table is placed, it only remains to fix the electronic control panel on the left or right side of the table, connect the cables of the motors of each leg to the central control box (already fixed to the frame), and finally return the table and get up. Once the table is assembled and in place, the FlexiSpot E8 high table works perfectly.

Flexispot E8 Overview: The tall desk controller is located on the right side of the tall desk with seven buttons.

The table height controls are easy to use and can be manually adjusted by pressing the up and down arrows on the controller, which displays the current height of the table in centimeters as it is moved up and down. Conveniently, you can also store four separate table heights; there’s one for sitting, one for standing, and two more labeled “1” and “2” to customize to your liking.

You can assign your personal height to these presets by pressing the “M” button at any height and then pressing the button you want to store it to. For example, if you want to store 65 cm as the seat height, you just need to set the table to 65 cm, press “M”, and then press the button with the “sit” icon. The control panel also has a built-in powered USB port so you can charge devices at your workstation, which is a nice added feature that shows that the design of the desktop has been thought through. I should also note that the motors make a quiet humming noise when the desk height is adjusted, but it doesn’t sound like someone is pulling a tractor into your office like some standing desks do.

The E8 also has a hidden trick that can help you manage your cables: a USB-A port built into the right side of the control panel. It may affect whether you position the controller to the left or right, but it allows you to quickly charge your phone while at your desk without creating a spaghetti monster on your back.

Flexispot E8 review: Razer gaming chair is exactly centered vs. a standing desk

Overall, the FlexiSpot E8’s greatest strengths lie in its modular design and high-quality components. Not only can you resize your desk to suit your needs, meaning you don’t have to switch desks entirely if you move to a place with more or less workspace, but the E8 platform is a great option for those who need a productive space to work. and a great place to play. The E8 doesn’t have the annoying monitor wobble that some tables cause when you click your mouse in Counter-Strike, but it also looks sleek and lacks the flashy RGB gaming paraphernalia.

Whether you’re looking for the best gaming desk or the best standing desk, the Flexispot E8 should be on your radar. Our review unit had a desk size of 120 x 60cm, making it one of the few smaller standing desks that still retains the functionality of a power standing desk. Add to that the high-quality, reliable components and modular design, and the FlexiSpot E8 high table will easily draw you in. Gamers looking for dazzling RGB lighting should look elsewhere, but those who want something functional, beautiful, and capable of balancing gaming and performance will love the FlexiSpot E8.
