Information about the upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield is currently consistent with what it will be about really big name. After all, the game is expected to have around 500 developers working on the game at Bethesda. In addition, representatives of the studio have already stressed several times that this is their most ambitious project to date.
More recently, Bethesda CEO Todd Howard revealed that Starfield will feature over 250,000 lines of dialogue. This is about four times more than in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Compared to the newer Fallout 4, it has more than doubled since then.
Over the scope of the game and the number of dialogues on Twitter friend also stopped Czech translator Filip Zhenishek. According to his calculations, the translation of a play with such a large number of dialogues and texts would take about 1333 man-days of work. At the same time, he himself admits that he would not like to translate such a big name at all.
“Personally, I probably wouldn’t want the kind of project I’m talking about, knowing that I’m going to be taken care of for a few years.”
Zhenishek also points out that a transfer of this amount would be financially very expensive. For this reason, localization for smaller markets, including the Czech Republic, seems unlikely.
