It will be almost a month since the news spread on the Internet that the upcoming remake of the first part of Splinter Cell will have edited storyto better suit modern players. This in itself has spooked fans who have been waiting since 2013 for the return of the iconic stealth action adventure.
Now comes the second shock and complication. David Grivel, who led the development of the Splinter Cell remake, left Ubisoft after 11 years.. He also participated in Splinter Cell: Blacklist (the last part of the series) and has experience in Assassin’s Creed Unity or Far Cry 6.
According to Grivel, it’s time for him to leave Ubisoft and embark on a new adventure. Unfortunately, we don’t know who will be in charge of the Splinter Cell remake.

We don’t know much about the game itself. It was created in the studio Ubisoft Toronto (the team previously led the development of Far Cry 6) at snowdrop engine, which was created for The Division but was gradually used in Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle and South Park: The Fractured but Whole. Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, The Settlers and the unannounced Star Wars project are also being developed there.
Unconfirmed sources claim that Ubisoft takes a cue from IO Interactive’s Hitman in the return of Splinter Cell and wants Sam Fisher’s story to fit more into the present.
A remake of Splinter Cell was announced late last year. We learned that it is in the early stages of development, intending to keep the linear style, use the brand’s rich content, and introduce next-gen graphics and gameplay.
