The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel delayed

In early 2017, along with the Nintendo Switch console, a new episode of the long-running series The Legend of Zelda, subtitled Breath of the Wild, was released. And it must be said that, especially in terms of the handling of the open world, it was a truly revolutionary game, which thus became one of the highest rated games of all time.

Two years later, it was announced that we would see a direct sequel, the official subtitle of which we still do not know, and the play is referred to as “The Sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” Last year, Nintendo released a new demo, from which we learned, among other things, that the game was due out in 2022. But, as the Japanese company announced today, this will not happen.

Nintendo announced the postponement with a short video featuring Eiji Aonuma, producer of The Legend of Zelda. He apologized to the fans, but added that the developers just need more time to complete the project. Fortunately, we immediately got a new date, which this time is a little more accurate. The game is aimed at spring 2023.

Aonuma also reminded that in the new line of adventures we will move not only on the ground, but also in the air, which will bring a number of new game mechanics.

The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is aimed exclusively at the Nintendo Switch. You can pre-order the game from the Xzone Store.
