Overwatch 2 has been criticized for a number of issues. There is now another item on the complaint sheet that the community has had a problem with. As part of crossplay, aim assist does not work for console players, which of course they do not like. As a result, however, this is not as big news as it might seem at first glance. The very first Overwatch only allowed PC and console players to connect when the console players decided they wanted to play with friends who had the game on PC. However, after connecting, they automatically lost aiming assistance in the lobby. Considering that the second part of this team-based shooter clearly follows from the original concept, this interesting Blizzard decision is also found here.

So older players won’t be too surprised, but for a lot of people playing on consoles who don’t have an original Overwatch experience, this is something they don’t expect from a shooter. For some, this is a formidable hurdle, while others see the lack of aim assist, according to Reddit, as something that puts them at a disadvantage compared to the competition. One of the main issues with Overwatch 2 in this regard is probably that each hero plays differently and therefore it’s not easy to optimize the assist so that it doesn’t help certain champions too much. However, it should be noted that no one is forcing you to play with a different platform, and this is even prohibited in competitive play.
However, according to a number of users, such a solution would be a better option for some players than a direct ban on crossplay between consoles and PC, as is the case with Rainbow Six: Siege. What do you think about this issue?
