Post-apocalyptic car free online action game Crossout with the release of a major update moves to an innovative Target Engine 2.0according to Gaijin Entertainment.
According to the press release, the developers rework every aspect of the game: lighting and shadows, visual effects, physical model, colors, interfaces and controls, sound effects and more. Important information for existing players is that the system requirements remain the same.
The update is called Crossout: Supercharged and it will be released 25.10. this year.
Thanks to technology global illumination implemented in Targem Engine 2.0, the game now accurately calculates reflected and diffuse light, so the image in poorly lit and completely shadowed places will look more real.
“Shadow Contact (SSC) and Screen Space Local Reflection (SSLR) technologies are used to correctly render shadows and reflections from objects of any size and on any surface, including water. Post-processing effects such as Motion Blue, Lens Flare, and Bloom bring the in-game visuals even closer to real life, mimicking the work of photo and video equipment. All of these changes will be available across all platforms, including PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.” says in a press release.
“In Crossout Supercharged, each post-apocalyptic armored car will be carefully assembled by the player from thousands of available parts. New steering wheel physics and camera behavior make the ride more exciting and the feeling of speed more intense. The suspension will now realistically respond to turns, abrupt starts or stops, and collisions with obstacles.. Interaction with the environment has also become more realistic with improved traction simulation and new effects such as sliding when starting off. Explosions also became more spectacular.more diverse and believable: details flying off from destroyed armored vehicles are more realistic, charred cars and traces of fire remain on the groundthe destruction effects of generators, engines and fuel barrels have been reworked.
“Many parts of the car will now work differently, and they updated control scheme and in-game interface. For example, vehicles with a chassis that allows movement in any direction, such as mechanical legs or hovercraft, will be more comfortable to use. Players can now rotate and shoot them in shooter style, much easier to manage, especially on consoles. In addition, animations and effects for hovercraft have been improved, and these vehicles will now behave more realistically, as each movement will take into account the position of their center of gravity. The legs have also received updated motion physics that take into account weight more realistically.”
More details will be published in the coming weeks.
