Microsoft doesn’t like to talk about Xbox sales, games, and interest in its services. But thanks to the documents sent to the Brazilian authorities, we have learned a number of interesting things in the previous months. The latter relates to income from Xbox Game Pass.
Microsoft has submitted an Xbox Game Pass document to the Administrative Council for Economic Defense of Brazil (CADE). It says that the service is generated in 2021. revenue $2.9 billion.
The revenue of the entire Xbox division in 2021 was $16.28 billion. This means that Xbox Game Pass accounted for 17.8% of all Xbox game revenue and 30% of total service and game revenue last year.
We’re only talking about Game Pass results on consoles. PC Game Pass revenue is not included in these figures. There will be more of them in the coming years, Game Pass is growing from year to year. In January of this year, Microsoft announced that Xbox Game Pass has surpassed 25 million subscribers.
On the other hand, it must be understood that Xbox Game Pass has a high cost for games available in a large catalog, including complete new games.
