Colleagues honored the memory of the animator who died for Ukraine

Metro Exodus animator Andrey Korzinkin died a few days ago fighting Russian troops invading his home country. His death affected all his colleagues and friends. However, the first to report this was game designer Leonid Stepanov from the Remedy studio, who worked with Korzinkin in the past. His message read: “Andrey “Nizrok” Korzinkin (@korzinkin_3d) died while performing a combat mission in the fight for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Stepanov wrote on Twitter. “A talented animator, an incredible person and a real hero. Rest in peace my friend. We all miss you“.

Stepanov was a longtime friend of the cartoonist. His tweet was subsequently followed by a number of other employees of the fallen creator. Many of them did not want to believe the sad information for a long time, as evidenced by the reaction of another friend, “My first reaction was rejection. That this is impossible, that this cannot happen to Andrey,he said. “And even later, when I myself forwarded this terrible message, I hoped that all this would turn out to be a mistake. But then other people confirmed this information. It was very painful. Now it remains only to preserve the wonderful memories of Andrei, pass them on to other people and do everything so that his death is not in vain.

Most of all I remember the times together. Some for those who don’t work, others for the development experience. Andrei Korzinkin is not the only creator who fought at the front. On the battlefield are a number of developers from the 4A Games studio, as well as the authors of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
