Blizzard is having a hard time with Overwatch 2. The start of their free-to-play news hasn’t been easy at all. The game struggled with huge queues, and to make matters worse, its servers became the target of a DDoS attack. Even their SMS protection did not work 100% as a result, which also caused difficulties for some players, making it impossible for them to start playing. According to a recently launched blog, the company is actively trying to respond to all the difficulties of its work, which has led to the disabling of the element related to mobile phones for a certain group of players. If you have had an active account linked to Overwatch since last year, this feature will no longer apply to you.
However, beginners cannot avoid it. As part of this information, Blizzard also warns potential troublemakers that it can deal with them without the service, so if you break the rules, it doesn’t matter if you have an old account or a new one. You will just be banned. Another thing the company is currently struggling with is servers, but in this case it will definitely take longer than disabling SMS protection.
