Double studio in Prague The Art of the Tricksterwhich created a free mobile game in 2019. Monolith (later on the PC, where it has a rather positive rating), boasted a new project, a tense and fast shooter with RPG elements.
His name dread hunter and in short it could be described as Diablo meets Doom. It’s a fast-paced “top-of-the-line” twinstick shooter and role-playing game at the same time. You will be in the game pilot a three-meter high-tech mech, in which you fight your way through hordes of sci-fi monsters on procedurally generated levels. Each ends with a boss fight. Interestingly, all items dropped by enemies have special functionality (similar to legendary items in other RPGs).
“We have focused on intense and powerful combat system that quickly alternates between ranged and hand-to-hand combat and the player must always be on the move. Our monsters are faster and more dangerous than usual in the RPG genre, which, among other things, shifts the focus from the endless multiplication of the player’s characteristics to his skills and special combinations of equipment. writes Matusz Jezek from Trickster Arts in a press release we received.
“We practically treat weapons as special abilities. They can be upgraded with mods and player clothing. Of course, we also have standard abilities that can be upgraded to interesting options with custom ability trees.” Matthew adds.
Dreadhunter has been in development since early 2020 and will be released as a premium game on PC. The goal is to launch Early Access on Steam by the end of 2023. According to Steam, the game will not only have Czech subtitles, but also Czech dub.
