Fumihiko Yasudastudio manager Ninja teamspoke in an interview with VGC magazine about the future of the brand Ninja Gaiden. While a sequel to the acclaimed series doesn’t seem to be in development at the moment, Jasuda hasn’t ruled out giving the brand to another studio or entrusting development to a less experienced in-house team.
“We’re not announcing anything,” Yasuda emphasizes, “but both of these ideas sound like great plans, and in a sense, both are possible.” He also notes that he doesn’t want to be reckless with the brand. According to him, everything will be it had to match. “Theoretically, if we were to work with another company on a new Ninja Gaiden game, we would have to make sure that this game would actually appeal to fans and exceed their expectations.”

Will this work for an existing IP? Or is it more suitable for new intellectual property?” Jasuda explains.
The last full-length Ninja Gaiden came out ten years ago. However, it doesn’t look like a sequel is being worked on at Team Ninja or anywhere else. But Jasuda himself would like to continue the series sooner or later.
