Overwatch 2 Season 1 picks up right after the game’s FPS launch, giving players a chance to experience the new Battle Pass and its unlockable hero, Kiriko. It comes with a lot of changes for a lot of characters, but Junker Queen is the one under the nerf hammer.

In their Hero Balance blog on September 21, Blizzard confirms that Heroes will undergo major changes at the start of each new season in an effort to create an ever-changing meta.

Writing: “This means that the new seasons will be more distinct and special, and the balance will change significantly as we move into the next season,” Blizzard says that hero tweaks have already begun for the first season, with the now-infamous Junker Queen. getting a big bonus from the ban. hammer – again.

Based on beta test feedback and pro play data, Junker Queen’s Commanding Shout ability was deemed too powerful. To mitigate this, Blizzard has made the following changes:

  • command yell
    • Allies health bonus reduced from 100 to 50.
    • Ally duration reduced from 5 seconds to 3 seconds.
    • Temporary health no longer decreases over its duration.
    • Reload time increased from 11 to 15 seconds.

There are some obvious nerfs here, but the upside is that temporary health in general now generates 50% less super charge instead of zero, allowing players with high damage to fill up the cap bar faster while doing their job. . You will also save 30% on the maximum charge for changing heroes in all roles. Great, huh?

Passive DPS has also been changed, with players now having a 25% increased cooldown and movement speed if they kill an enemy player. Although it doesn’t stack, it resets on kill.

Also regarding the tank, Orisa got a buff after the nerf. Noting that she remains a “hard hero to balance”, they state that she has “one of the lowest win rates in the game”. In an attempt to combat this, the developers changed her base health and armor from 200 to 275, and also reduced her Energy Javelin cooldown from eight seconds to six seconds.

Other heroes like Sombra, Brigitte, Baptiste, D.Va, and Sojourn have also received minor changes, which you can see here. How this will change Overwatch 2’s tier list remains to be seen, but as we get closer to launch, it’s worth checking out our list of all Overwatch 2 heroes anyway to get a head start.
