A recently discovered Genshin Impact bug made Barbara much stronger than HoYoverse expected in the anime RPG. For some reason, she can create an infinite number of Bloom Reactions when her Elemental Ability comes into contact with the Dendro Element. These continuous reactions cause continuous Dendro Core explosions, which is bad news for nearby enemies, but good news for you.
It looks like HoYoverse will fix this bug soon, so use this bug fixed by Barbara while you can. HoYoverse recently posted a statement in the game’s update summary that specifically mentions that Bloom’s elemental abilities and reactions are not working properly, so there may be a fix in the version 3.1 update.
However, in the meantime, the players have used Barbara to close the Spiral Abyss. This Reddit thread shows two great examples of Barbara’s potential when used with the correct commands, one of which sees the player clear the first half of Floor 12, Room 3 in around 40 seconds. This was done with Barbara, Fishl, Kazuha, and Dendro Traveler to create Aggravate and Hyperbloom while Kazuha constantly spins.
Another clip shows a broken Barbara Bloom working on Team Freeze with Collay, Dendro Traveler, and Dione. Dione and Barbara immobilize enemies, while Collies and Traveler’s Dendro Cores quickly destroy them.
It can be hard to see exactly what’s going on in both videos, but essentially Barbara’s elemental ability applies Hydro to any enemy or creature that enters her little AoE. If she throws Hydro at a Dendro affected area during the fight, Dendro Cores will spawn. The appearance of these cores causes Barbara’s ability to use Hydro as soon as they enter her AoE, thus creating even more cores. And she goes on indefinitely without reloading, thanks to a bug.
This bug currently only works for Barbara, but it may also work for Neelaw when she hits 3.1 with Cyno and Candace, as she seems to apply Hydro in a similar way.
