October is slowly knocking on our door, and that means not only cold weather, but for fans of the FPS genre, the arrival of the newest Call of Duty. Three years later, we will again see an addition to the family from the Infinity Ward workshops with the subtitle modern warfare 2. The Modern Warfare series received a full reboot in 2019, and for many players, the return to modern warfare has become one of the most popular Call of Duty titles in years. And no wonder. After a long time, it seemed that the series took a turn and returned to the days of the original Modern Warfarewhen, according to many, she was at the peak of her development. A significant shift in graphics and sound design, as well as reworked elements of a rather outdated multiplayer at that time, including new attempts and mechanics, such as “mounting” weapons or “Realism” mode, just seemed like a breath of fresh air. Exactly what the series needs.
Modern Warfare 2 has even greater hopes for it. However, we still have a few weeks before the release, which is scheduled for October 28th. But, as has been the custom at Activision in recent years, the first multiplayer beta was open to players this weekend. PlayStation 4 and 5. So we had no other choice but to dust off. never existed skill on controller and find out if the first impressions of Modern Warfare 2 live up to the expectations of the latest installment.
It must be said right away that from the first few hours in multiplayer, only hard to guesswhat the final game will actually be, but then again, from what we’ve seen so far, it looks like fans have a lot to look forward to. While the beta has only shown us a glimpse of the final game, we can already see the major changes that will accompany us in multiplayer. Definitely don’t look for them in gameplay.and if you’ve played Modern Warfare 2019, you’ll feel right at home here. However, individual weapon and perk upgrades have received more changes, and new interesting game modes have also been added.
The gameplay, as I said, remained without major changes compared to the original Modern Warfare. The feeling of shooting is again at a very high level, each weapon behaves differently and it is a pleasure to shoot. Diva finally returns to the game after many years, i.e. jump stacking. In addition, we have the opportunity hang on the edge and shoot him with a pistol. This brings slightly better mobility and verticality games to the game, where you don’t have to run at the enemy from around the corner, but surprise him by leaning over the wall.
Another interesting change you’ll notice is the new camera when you’re looking at other players. This is a detail that does not otherwise change the gameplay, but camera view, which a soldier can wear on the side of his helmet, looks more than interesting. Then the perk system was changed. Now you have two classics, one bonus and one so-called “ultimate”. The first two classics are available immediately from the start of the game, but the bonus is unlocked only after 4 minutes in the match, and the ultimate even after the eighth minute. But for every 10 points you get another time decreases by one second. This is an interesting system that rewards you for good results in matches.
In terms of matches, we were able to try out two new modes in the beta. One of them, Rescue of prisoners, is an interesting alternative to Counter-Strike. As the name suggests, this is a classic hostage rescue. So one team has a task rescue two hostages, which must be guarded by the other team. However, unlike Counter-Strike, the encounter does not end with the rescue of one of the two hostages, but for each rescue you get points. The first team to score 500 points wins.
Then the second mode knock out, where both teams fight for the same deck on the map and either the team holding the deck at the end of the round wins or if both teams don’t kill each other. Both of these mentioned modes are then only for one life, with the fact that your teammate can revive you once per round. Neither mode looks bad at first glance, and whether it’s the more tactical hostage rescue or the more chaotic Knock Out, there’s sure to be plenty of fans. Of course, we’ve also received a number of new grenades, field upgrades, and a whole host of new equipment that he can take to matches. Also worth noting is the fact that you will have to decide if you want to install it. “Kill streaks” or “Score streaks”. So the game offers both systems without the need to have one of the perks, as was the case with the Modern Warfare reboot.
But let’s take a look at one of the most notable changes that many fans have been calling for. This is a change to the weapon unlock system. New already you will not unlock only the classic leveling, but they can also be unlocked by upgrading a certain one. This means that if you unlock a new weapon from the original, most of the upgrades you had on the original will be kept. This results in much less labor and overall much better availability of new weapons than ever before. Thanks to this interesting change, you will no longer be punished for wanting to upgrade new weapons, but you will be able to immediately use the original updatewhich you have already unlocked once.
Individual improvements here are handled more than brilliantly, and in addition to small changes, it looks like there will be more massive improvements that will significantly change the behavior of weapons.
Overall, though, this is a pretty credible successor to the previous Infinity Ward title. The beta didn’t show us much, and it’s a pity we didn’t get that opportunity. see more maps, especially with water, where there will be the possibility of controlled swimming and underwater combat, or for testing devices. We also have to wait for the return of battles 32 to 32so we definitely have something to look forward to. Even in this small one, you can see the huge potential that MW 2 has to offer. The latest episode is definitely heading in the right direction, so hopefully it will. If you want to try the Modern Warfare II beta too, you still have time on PlayStation until October 20, that is, until today, and then Closed beta testing starts on Xbox and PC on the 22nd and 23rd, and beta testing will be open to everyone from the 24th to the 26theven for those who don’t have the game at all, on all platforms.
