About a month ago we wrote that the PlayStation 5 will see an increase in the recommended price tag due to inflation. He answered a CNBC editor’s question if Microsoft would follow Sony’s lead and make the Xbox Series more expensive. Phil Spencer: “I can definitely say that we have no plans to increase the prices of our consoles at this time.” In an uncertain economic environment, this would be the wrong move,” he said.

Spencer also revealed that Microsoft is not looking to make significant savings after its (yet-to-be-completed) purchase of Activision Blizzard and that the company will continue to forge new partnerships that could lead to acquisitions. “If you look at the investments we have made, you will see that this is a highly competitive market. We are trying to be a big player. (…) So our work here never ends,” he said.

Microsoft is currently working on completion acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $68 billion., which he announced in January of this year. The business is currently under scrutiny from UK regulators.
