We recently wrote about new footage from the Shadows of Rose story DLC for Resident Evil Village, which was presented to the world, including by IGN magazine. But later he came up with another article, because the editors were directly at the Tokyo Game Show and had the opportunity to interview the creators themselves.
Director Kento Kinoshita confirmed in an interview that Capcom created Shadows of Rose to complete the Winters family saga. This is not the first time such a statement has been made, but it already looks very convincing. Initially, fans thought that Rose would appear in one of the next full installments, which would make sense anyway, but the developers seem to have very different plans. Which? They don’t even want to hint about it. However, it’s definitely worth adding the information that Shadows of Rose should take approximately 4 hours to complete, making it one of the longest DLCs in the entire series.
But Winter’s Expansion also contains another important part – the third-person main story mode. According to producer Masachika Kawata, the development was very complex, almost the same as creating a new game. “Even the experience of the same game can be completely different when played in third person,” says Kawata. All the animations had to be adjusted to make everything look right, but the authors believe that they really succeeded, and players will enjoy the title in 3rd person mode.
The Resident Evil Village Winter expansion releases October 28 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. It will be available in the cloud version for Nintendo Switch on December 2nd.
