League of Legends: from gold to iron, or a journey to hell

Over the past few months, I have been heavily immersed in the League of Legends game. I was in the mood to remember years later, so I completely immersed myself in the whirlwind of battles. The normal mode was relatively cool, but I was missing something, so in the end I thought it would be a good idea to go to the ranked matches.

i would go to hell for my friends

In most seasons, I have always balanced between gold and silver while playing League of Legends. I’m not saying I’m an ultra player, but in these leagues I’ve mostly come across relatively normal individuals who don’t create unnecessary problems. Everyone just wanted to win, and the desire to spoil others was not very common in these leagues. Then, of course, I nodded to play with a friend who was not as lucky as me, and so I went alone to meet a world that I did not yet know – the Iron Staircase. Yes, there is such a rank in League of Legends, and I’m not afraid to say that this is a real bottom, in which I wondered more than once why there is no Wood, where there could be real cream of the crop.

Because over the past month while playing League of Legends, I have come across some really crazy cases, some of which I will mention here. During one of the games, for example, I ran into Brando. A mage who is mostly played in the mid or bot lane if you can’t find a better support. The problem with this was that he decided to aim for the top. He had the opportunity to watch several videos on Youtube, in which he saw how this character copes with defensive characters and more aggressive AD soloists. Well, guess how it turned out. Of course, he lost his lane, after which his full juice went towards other lanes, where he dealt decent damage and effectively won the game against the enemies, whom Brand also decently fed for the next few minutes with his suicide attacks.

The other released player was a pro with Darius. Although he won the alley, he was subsequently dissatisfied with the actions of the forester, after which he himself went to the jungle, where he began to live the life of a hermit, constantly shouting at those around him that the forester was to blame for everything, and he was in charge. innocent victim. But what would you expect from a man named Super Troller, right? The last example in this article would be the man who married Miss Fortune on the net. A normal choice, but from the very beginning this thing has been fun jumping on enemy shots and hitting towers. A couple of deaths won’t kill anyone, but if you die often enough and then say it’s actually trolling when you watch others play, that’s pretty weird.

Of course, someone might say that they are just bad players, but they can be helped. However, for some people, the whole anabasis begins as soon as they choose a champion. Can you imagine Lulu as a forester? I already do. I also saw Warwick in a support role or Thresh being the underdog in the top lane. I’ve seen a lot of weird combos playing League of Legends, but that’s probably what happens at the very bottom of ranked matches, where the elite tell you they have a right to be funny.

Can the troll problem be solved?

I played League of Legends for a very long time, so I still remember the times when you could choose not several roles, but only one, which prevented many difficulties. But then the current format appeared, where, in order to speed up the search for a team, you never know what role you will get. Sometimes the game will give you who you are playing as, and sometimes it will send you to the battlefield in a support or jungle skin. For myself, I consider this one of the main aspects that generate toxicity in this work.

One way to address the problem that queuing creates in League of Legends would be to assign a lane in ranked matches in the first place based on how successful the player is in that lane. If he has never played a support, it makes no sense to put him in such a role, just as it makes no sense to shove an individual who prefers the support role in the first place into a solo lane or jungle. Of course, many things can be decided in the chat, but it is not always possible to reach a reasonable agreement, and already at this stage, some begin to troll hard, taking on a completely senseless character.

The second option to reduce the general restlessness of League of Legends players and their subsequent desire to troll is to reduce the penalty, or completely eliminate it in ranked games, if one of the participants decides to leave the game. Others have no or minimal impact on whether or not it goes offline. Therefore, I see no reason why they should pay for his intention, or a sudden problem on his side, which more than once decides against the winners an already practically won game, because after a while the number of players, not what you play, often determines the victory .

The final option to change the whole situation could be the creation of a special league layer that would send trolling specialists directly to specific matches, where the same group as they themselves are present in League of Legends would be waiting for them. If you’re asking how Riot should separate the wheat from the chaff, I would base it primarily on reports. Once the player had received enough “incentives” they would automatically travel in that direction, after which they could return to the normal part of the gaming community in, say, thirty days. This can be problematic in part, but I think that toxicity can be reduced a little because of this.

must have strong nerves

Of course, Riot himself is trying to fight the trolls in League of Legends, but so far he has not quite succeeded. It also seems to me that at all levels of rating matches, he is losing the fight against toxicosis. Frustration is often palpable, and there are quite a few elements that cause it. We have bugs, sometimes completely unoptimized champions, and then also a system that drives you into uncomfortable situations.

The best option, of course, is to gather a group of friends to play, with their help you can enjoy any multiplayer game 100%. But if this is not possible, you need to be prepared for the fact that, at least in ranked matches, you will most likely not avoid disappointment. However, if you’re lucky, you can get out of the depths of hell. But you need to focus on playing certain lanes, fly between them a lot and generally try to be everywhere, because winning in one lane does not decide the whole game.

Personally, I only like matches when they are at least a little normal, but each of them is somehow unique. I really feel like Forrest Gump when I play League of Legends. I never know which troll I’ll take on the team in the next game, so I’m always trying something new. At the end of this text, however, I would like to give you some good news. In the end, I managed to get out of hell with a friend, and now the world has become a slightly happier place.
